One of my go-to restaurants when friends and family visit us in San Diego is "C Level" on Harbor Island. First of all, I am a sucker for a good view, and C Level has an amazing view of the San Diego Bay and the downtown San Diego skyline. How can you go wrong when you are sitting on the patio overlooking the water, with the setting-sun reflecting off the windows of the downtown highrises, and boats and ships of all sizes floating by? Even if the food was bad, this restaurant would be awesome.
That brings me to my second reason for loving this place... the food. My favorite lunch entree is the "Lobster and Fontina BLT Sandwich," but they have so many different things to choose from, that you can take anyone (even your friends who won't try anything new) and everyone will leave satisfied. My third reason for loving this place is that the prices are very reasonable when you consider the location and the view.
If you are looking for a fine-dining experience with the same view, you can eat at C Level's sister restaurant, Island Prime (which is actually attached to C Level). The only bad thing about C Level is that they don't take reservations. Expect to wait for a table most evenings (and especially on the weekend). In my opinion, this one is worth waiting for.
