When it's time for you to hire a property inspector, be sure to find one who is thorough, who provides a detailed report, and who is certified by CREIA (the California Real Estate Inspection Association), or by MICB (the Master Inspector Certification Board), or by InterNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors). Clients often ask me for a reference, and I'm here to help you through every stage of your homebuying journey. If you want me to schedule your inspection for you, I will call through my list of inspectors and find one who is available when you and I are also available.

 

I feel it's generally better for the buyer to hire their own inspector without the buyer agent's influence, as that removes a potential conflict of interest. I encourage you to do some research and find an inspector you feel comfortable with.

 

That being said, I'm here to help you (not to make this more difficult than you want it to be), and many of my clients prefer that I get this scheduled for you.  I've learned from experience that some inspectors do a better job than others.
