The nearby San Diego Bay Botanic Garden has over 4,000 types of plants and over 37 acres of exhibits to stroll through. You can also do some bird-watching at the San Elijo Lagoon, where forty percent of the birds in North America pass through on their annual migrations. Encinitas is also home to the world-famous Encinitas Self-Realization Fellowship, where you can stroll through the meditation gardens and koi ponds and catch a glimpse of the famous Swami’s Beach.
